For the final concert tour of the summer, Sang Woo Kang is heading to Costa Rica! The School of Music at the National University of Costa Rica has invited pianist Sang Woo Kang to perform a solo concert at San Ramon City Auditorium on August 20, Saturday, at 6:00 PM.

The first part of the program will feature Domenico Scarlatti’s Sonata in D Major, L 23 and the Sonata in C Major, L 104; Mozart’s Piano Sonata in C Major, K. 330; and Chopin’s Nocturne in D-flat Major and the Polonaise-Fantasie in A-flat Major. Following an intermission, Dr. Kang will continue in a more contemporary vein with John Corigliano’s Etude Fantasy and Paul Hindemith’s Piano Sonata in B-flat Major.

Prior to this concert, and as part of his tour at Costa Rica, Dr. Kang taught a master class to talented undergraduate and graduate piano students from the School of Music at Oscar Alfaro Auditorium, on August 19.

Admission is free and open to the public.
