Atlantic Music Festival

This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before. – Leonard Bernstein

Martin Canin from Juilliard

For the past few years, I’ve served as the director of the Atlantic Music Festival‘s Piano Institute and Seminar: a wonderful opportunity for budding pianists to take private lessons from renowned teachers and performers, as well as for the chance to attend both inspiring chamber and orchestral performances, free of charge, by famous conductors and other artists.

During this performing season and in the past, the piano program has had an exceptional roster of faculty participating, including such faculty as Bruce Brubaker, chair of the piano program at New England Conservatory; Natalya Antonova of Eastman School of Music; Martin Canin of Juilliard; and Sean Duggan of SUNY Fredonia, also one of the foremost Bach scholars in the country. During their four weeks at the program, serious piano students will be challenged and inspired through intensive private and chamber studies with various piano faculty, master classes with guest artists, a series of performance seminars, both solo and chamber recital opportunities, and the opportunity to participate in the AMF concerto competition.

If you are a serious piano student, you should consider applying to our program. For this performing season, we are looking for dedicated musicians who place a high priority on their art, and try to ensure that talented students receive all the financial aid possible, either in the form of a scholarship, or a work study.

Or if you are around the area and want to attend a few free concerts, please stop by. You won’t be disappointed. The season will run from July 9 to August 5.

If interested in applying, please email Dr. Kang directly.
