  3. practicing hands separate
  4. listening to phrasing
  5. rhythm alteration

Solo Recital

The 2017 Guest Artist series at Hobart and William Smith Colleges continues on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 8 PM in the Froelich Hall in the Gearan Center for Performing Arts with pianist Sang Woo Kang, lauded by the Los Angeles Times as a “prodigiously talented pianist with great technical virtuosity and interpretive gifts.” An Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Music at Providence College, Kang is an active performer and educator who has presented master classes and recitals in Asia, Europe and Central and South America. He is a graduate of Julliard School and the Eastman School of Music where he received the doctor of musical arts degree.

Each performance will be held in Froelich Hall in the Gearan Center for Performing Arts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 senior citizens, students are free with valid HWS student ID.

Sang Woo Kang joins soprano Sooah Park in performance of works by Villa-Lobos, Berlin, Gershwin, Weill, Rodgers, Rodrigo, and Ahn. The concert will be held on September 22, Friday, at 7 PM.

All concerts are held in the Ryan Concert Hall ~ Smith Center for the Arts unless *noted
